Looking Right: Print Media’s Portrayal of Christian Conservatives during the Bush Administration
The purpose of this research paper is to discover how three influential newspapers have written the Religious Right’s electoral clout from 2000 until 2004. Specifically this paper explores whether mainstream news media coverage appears to accurately present, over-represent or under-represent the Religious Right’s role in determining presidential elections. This was accomplished through the archival analysis and comparison of 30 newspaper articles over 3 widely read publications. This study will examine media bias in the coverage of religion and politics and how it has ultimately influenced public perception.
